Thunder Struck Games is looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and personable Systems Administrator to join our Los Angeles, Chicago and our New York based IT group. Applicants will be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a team while also possess the ability to work without supervision.
This position will have an emphasis on Linux administration and support of a large scale production team. Rockstar Games is a fast-paced, technology-centric environment, which is also a great match for applicants interested in the Games Industry.
Responsibilities:

Provide IT support for fast- paced production & development operation by diagnosing and resolving various hardware and software issues on Windows and Linux workstations.

Work with Developers to troubleshoot issues with game pipeline and tools.

Troubleshoot basic problems with industry software such as Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Maya, Perforce, and Visual Studio.

Configure and trouble-shoot video game development consoles.

Create and manage package libraries for Linux systems through configuration management like Puppet.

Assist with Tier 1 & 2 administration of local infrastructure including storage, servers and networking equipment from the likes of Dell, Brocade, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.

Work with existing VMware environment, including host maintenance and new virtual machine spin up as necessary.

Setup and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

Provide timely and creative solutions to difficult problems.
Qualifications
-
Be a subject matter expert for workstation hardware as well as current Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.

4+ years working in a multi-platform IT support position or Degree in Computer Science or related field, equivalent certification or experience required.

2+ years supporting Linux within a production environment.

A thorough understanding of core concepts around Networks, Storage, Compute, and Virtualization.

Basic understanding of Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange in an enterprise environment.

Ability to work calmly in high pressure situations and manage multiple ongoing projects.

Ability to mentor and share knowledge with other team members.
-
Ability to work within a large, globalized, offsite IT team, providing excellent reporting & documentation.

Will need to be able to work flexible hours or rotating shifts, and on-call, as necessary.

Excellent written & verbal communications skills as well as top-notch problem-solving skills.
-
Experience or interest in the Video Game industry is a plus.
